The new drag features carbon-filled material for smoother performance and better heat dissipation and is built into the frame of the reel for superior stability and more consistent performance over time. Sealing has been improved by removing superfluous components. The Iconic also features a 1-piece spool nut, all new corrosion-resistant handles and counterweights, and a reel foot that is machined on the frame.
